So in a recent post I vented a little about my disdain for the condition of my scalp and how it's really hard to find a hair care product (that's vegan and cruelty-free) that plays nicely with my grumpy scalp... well.. good news guys.. all that has changed.
I have found my "holy grail" (as us beauty bloggers say a lot) Hair care! and even better news...?? It's 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free.. HALLLELUJAH.
What am I talking about?? you ask.. well.. my friends.. My lovely friend over at Pacifica told me she was gonna send me some of her favorites from their newly released hair care lin to play with and review, and what she sent me was this bad boy right here:
The Pacifica Jet Set Trio.. and oh me oh myyyyy I LOVE this stuff. You can buy it at Ulta for around $19
The products are travel sized for your convenience so they can be thrown in the gym bag or your weekender bag for a mini vacay, I just love that about them, however I best be getting these in the full sizes (sold exclusively at Ulta ) because my hair/head is in looooovvvvee..
*(side note: I was totally about to email the lovely people over at pacifica that they needed to come out with a hair care line because I love all their other face and body products and I knew it would be fantabulous.. yes I just said fantabulous.. and it is!! It is like they read my mind. Insert happy Erin Dance)
Let me start off by talking about the Super Kale Juiced-up Shampoo and Conditioner.
First of all they are listed to be compatible with all hair types but especially:
- Fine (Check)
- Oily (check check)
Color-treated (check check check)
HELLOOOOOO Pacifica, you just described my biggest qualms in three little words.. those are the biggest problems my hair/scalp has so scoreee right there.
The Shampoo offers weightless hydration and volume support and the conditioner offers a deep purifying cleanse and volume support and BOTH offer stress and pollution protection with detoxifying extracts..
both smell divine like crisp vegetables mixed with a subtle floral and dare I say coconut scent (at least this is what my nose registers)
The ingredients for the Shampoo are:
Aqua, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate (Coconut), Vegetable Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract, Euterpe Oleracea (Açaí) Fruit Oil, Passiflora Edulis (Passionfruit) Seed Oil, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Polyquaternium-44, Soyamidopropalkonium Chloride, Panthenol (Vitamin B), Guar Hydroxypropyl Trimonium Chloride, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Brassica Oleracea (Kale) Extract, Phospholipids, Oriza Sativa Rice Bran Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Arginine (Amino Acid), Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, Parfum (All Natural),Ginkgo Biloba Extract,White Willow Bark Extract, Horsetail Extract

all ingredients are 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan
My experience using the shampoo is different than my experience using most other shampoos.. a lot of non-natural or shampoos that contain animal-derived ingredients are really lathery which is what we are generally used to as a society, however I found this shampoo doesn't lather all that well and it kinda just rubs on like a lotion, I find that if I have some in my hand and wet it and create a lather with my palms it spreads easier and I concentrate it more towards my scalp and not so much on my ends, It rinses nice but my hair doesn't have that Instant clean feeling I am used too, but don't let that deter you because once your hair dries you will realize the magic that this stuff is because your hair will be feel light, and clean and airy, and healthy and happy and wonderful and a bajillion other fun adjectives.. because that's how my hair feels.
The conditioner is kinda the same I use about the same amount as the shampoo but I apply it more towards the ends and work my way up whereas with the shampoo I do the opposite that way my hair has all it's needs met but with the appropriate product...
Now onto the bomb.com product.. (probably my favorite of this set); The Hairvana Leave-on Detangling Conditioner..
How cute is that name?? "Hairvana" (Hair+Nirvana) So cute.. and clever.
- It is for dry and damaged hair
- it's purpose is to help flexibility, balance, strength and healthy shine
I will have to be honest with you, the first time I read that it was a leave-on conditioner I was worried, I haven't had the best experience with leave on anything (especially hair care) in the past..
My past experiences generally left me looking like I hadn't rinsed out all my normal shampoo and/or conditioner and everything was sort of stuck to my head and greasy looking..
THIS DOES NOT DO THAT.
the hairvana leave-on detangling conditioner, gives my hair that extra TLC it needs after being washed and conditioned, it softens it, calms it, gives it lift, smooths it whilst giving it body, and it is in no way heavy or greasy.. I just got this and it's almost empty.. I gotta run to Ulta for more ASAP.
I have used this on wet and dry hair with equally awesome results.. I even used it in lieu of dry shampoo one day, just to see if it would freshen my hair up and give it something extra and it did! This stuff is entirely way too awesome.. please do not hesitate to try this stuff, because your hair might be feeling left out...
The ingredients of the Hairvana Leave-On Detangling Conditioner are:
Aqua, Cetyl Alcohol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cetrimonium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Amodimethicone, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Panthenol (Vitamin B), Kale Extract, Agave Equilana Leaf Extract/Agave Tequilana, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Oriza Sativa Rice Bran Oil, Arginine (Amino Acid), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Lecithin, Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin, Gardenia Tahitensis Flower Extract (Monoi), Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Matricaria Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Parfum (All Natural), Ginkgo Biloba Extract.
The full sizes of the shampoo and conditioner are $10 each and the full size of the Hairvana is $14 so you will not be breaking the bank and you will also not be breaking my heart by spending more or less money on a product that tests on animals and harms animals in it's existence.
After using these bad boys, my hair is happy, healthy, light, flowy, calm, exhilarated and moreeee.. This stuff was made for me, and I give it 2 thumbs very high up..
in the words of Borat "High-Five Very Nice"
Head over to your nearest ulta and get your paws on these goodies and have a beautiful and cruelty-free life. Until Next time.
